This location on the North Shore of Lake Superior was fascinating with the depth perception along the coast and specific light conditions. All the color studies indicated that Double Split-Complementary Palette would be appropriate. Atmospheric  perspective made the distant colors cool and weak while very strong and aggressive in the front plane. This is my fourth large format devoted to the North Shore and size of 36" x 48" proves to be suitable for the subject. I used Raphael Oil Colors and fast dry medium.
