Several studies have been completed on the location since we lost the arch in 2010 and this is my studio painting. I was intrigued by beautiful structure of the rocks rich in iron. The colors are deep and strong on the background of the Lake Superior. Vegetation gives the sense of survival and geological formation tells about the time. We lost the pillar in the winter storm last year. Studio painting was completed based on previous value and color studies with Raphael Oil Colors and slow dry medium.
